Journey to Tomorrow by IHG
As part of IHG’s global Journey to Tomorrow program, the InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace has embraced a forward-thinking path toward greater sustainability, aligned with the evolving nature of our operations and our broader vision for the future.
In this context, we have adopted the internationally recognized FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education) standard — a model that embraces a comprehensive approach to sustainability. This framework assesses not only environmental impact but also management practices, and social, economic, and cultural dimensions.
We are committed to continuously enhancing our sustainable footprint by amplifying the positive effects of our actions and mitigating any negative impact our operations may have.
Green Key Certification
The InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace proudly marks over a year of holding the prestigious Green Key certification, a testament to its unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability.
This esteemed eco-label recognizes the hotel’s comprehensive efforts to minimize its ecological footprint through initiatives such as reducing single-use plastics, implementing efficient water and energy systems, and engaging in community-focused eco-friendly activities.
“We are very proud to receive this important recognition, which rewards our strong and ongoing commitment to sustainability. For us, it is not just a goal, but a continuous journey that involves every aspect of our operations and daily actions”- Simone Farci, General Manager
Eco-friendly Amenities
As part of IHG’s global commitment to sustainability, InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace has embraced the transition to full-size amenities, eliminating the need for single-use plastic toiletries. This important step is helping to remove over 200 million miniature bottles each year across the IHG estate.
Guests can now enjoy the exclusive BYREDO line — featuring luxurious, full-size shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion — a refined experience that’s both environmentally conscious and in line with our luxury standards.
Clean,Water & Technologies
We implement effective practices to keep our water resources as clean and healthy as possible. Furthermore, to guarantee thorough and eco-friendly cleaning, we exclusively use EcoLab-certified products, contributing to environmental protection without compromising the efficiency of our cleaning operations.
To address the water crisis, our facility is equipped with technologies aimed at reducing water consumption: all toilets are equipped with mechanisms that limit the flush volume, while showers and faucets have flow restrictors and aerators installed. Additionally, the water flow from the faucets is regulated not to exceed 9 deciliters every 10 seconds.
In an effort to further minimize water consumption, towel replacement in guest rooms occurs only upon explicit request from the guest, contributing significantly to the reduction of water usage in cleaning operations.
Community Support
The InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace is deeply rooted within its community and is committed to supporting its members. Our dedication to the development of our local area revolves around people and their empowerment. We understand our role within the Rome community and our duty to contribute to its growth. Therefore, we continually make our facilities and resources available to support local initiatives.
We actively collaborate with organizations such as Caritas Roma and the Comunità di Sant’Egidio, supporting their efforts through charitable contributions and volunteering activities. Furthermore, we take responsibility for the environment around us by regularly organizing clean-up initiatives in the Ludovisi district, where the hotel is located.
One way we support the community is by providing training opportunities for young students from various Hospitality Vocational Institutes in Rome, offering them the chance to undertake internships at our establishment. We believe in investing in the next generation and providing them with the opportunity to gain practical skills and knowledge in the hospitality sector.
