Villa Borghese

This is one of Rome’s largest public parks and is known as Museum Park, as it includes the Borghese Gallery and the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary art, among various others. Within the park, you can also find the Rome Zoo, called the Biopark, the Globe Theatre, and a horse riding track. To rejuvenate lungs and spirit, nothing beats meandering through the ample greenery, among centuries-old trees and Italian-style gardens, or taking a boat ride on the lake to the Temple of Aesculapius. The closest park entrance is Porta Pinciana, about an eight-minute walk from the hotel.

Piazza di Spagna (Spanish Steps)

One of the most iconic locations in Rome is just a nine-minute walk from the hotel. With its 135 steps, the staircase of the Spanish Steps is not to be missed. Once in Rome, you must walk the whole staircase at least once. Start from the church of Trinità dei Monti at the top and come down to the exquisite Fontana della Barcaccia (fountain of the old boat) built by Gian Lorenzo Bernini.
When you get to the bottom, take a stroll down Via dei Condotti with its luxury shops to fully immerse yourself in beauty and elegance.

Via dei Condotti

This is the quintessential shopping street, home of all the most famous Italian and international fashion brands. Just a ten-minute walk from the hotel, this iconic street starts at the Spanish Steps and ends at Via del Corso, a classic stomping ground for Romans, especially on Saturday afternoons.
After some window shopping, a stop at the Antico Caffè Greco is a must: a meeting place for artists, musicians, and intellectuals, this is Rome’s most famous literary cafe.

You cannot leave Rome without having visited the Borghese Gallery, which houses part of the artistic patrimony of the family that gives it its name. Bioparco [Rome Biopark Zoo]

Italy’s oldest zoological garden is within the confines of Villa Borghese, about a 20-minute walk from the hotel. The zoo was transformed into a Biopark in the ‘90s for the conservation of endangered species and for scientific research. There are over 1500 animals in the park, representing roughly 150 species between mammals, reptiles, and birds. Little ones, as well as adults, can enjoy an entertaining train ride that makes the rounds of the park in 20 minutes.

Terrazza del Pincio [Pincio Terrace]

Strolling through the western part of Villa Borghese, you will come across the Pincio gardens, an area that bears the signature of famous architect Giuseppe Valadier. Here, you can admire roughly 229 busts of notable historical Italian figures. The promenade leads to the terrace, an extraordinary lookout point to take in the beauty of Rome, especially at sunset. In the distance, you can see Saint Peter’s Basilica, the Janiculum, and Piazza del Popolo. You can easily get to the Pincio terrace from the hotel in 20 minutes, going past the church of Trinità dei Monti and continuing straight down the street.

Pantheon

Originally a temple which then became a basilica, this is one of the most well-known and photographed monuments in Rome. All the tombs of the kings of Italy are found here, as well as Raphael’s, renowned Italian Renaissance painter. What is astonishing about this site is the architecture and the dome with the hole at the top. There is an event on the day of Pentecost that is not to be missed: rose petals come showering down from that very opening in the dome.
